evidence-based design for supportive environments

Summer is for Interns!

The West Studio team welcomes our 2016 Summer Intern; Emily Lange, an aspiring landscape architect, currently enrolled in her first studio at the University of Washington. Emily comes to The West Studio to gain real-world industry experience, to observe the firm’s ongoing work and participate in our in-house research and development.

Emily has spent the last six years working for ABC News as a production designer in New York, and has recently moved out to Seattle to pursue her passion for urban and ecological design. We are always thrilled to provide opportunities for learning and mentorship to students at the University of Washington College of Built Environments Landscape Architecture department.

We are also excited that Emily is plugging herself into Seattle's public art and design community by working with the 2016 PARK(ing) day Plus+ event for the Seattle Design Festival to increase awareness on the importance of public space and parks within a city. The West Studio is looking forward to participating in this exciting event again this year! Emily will be helping us with the planning and design of this years Parisian themed PARK-let, as we team with our Hiawatha Arts and Business Community.
